Speak
- Open Speak and choose your language and theirs.
- Set a Hold-to-talk key.
- Choose a Reading voice — Windows built-in, or a local Female voice or Male voice that downloads the first time — and click Preview.
- Under Send voice to, choose your speakers or a virtual audio cable.
- Hold the key, talk, and let go. NativeLens recognizes what you said, translates it and speaks it.
No microphone handy? Type in Type to speak at the bottom and click Speak.
The first time you speak a language, prepare its speech component in More speaking settings (or with One-click setup) — about 170–490 MB depending on the language, shared with Listen when it’s the same language. If something is missing, such as a microphone, the key or the speech component, an amber ⚠ line at the bottom of the page says what.
If Windows has no voice for their language, install that language’s speech pack in Windows settings, or use a local voice.
Send your voice into OBS
Section titled “Send your voice into OBS”NativeLens doesn’t install a virtual audio cable for you. With VB-CABLE installed:
- In NativeLens, under Send voice to, choose the cable’s playback side, usually CABLE Input.
- In OBS, add an audio input capture and pick the cable’s recording side, usually CABLE Output.
- Check the OBS level meter before you go live.
In games and voice calls
Section titled “In games and voice calls”Not tested in real games or calls yet.
Use the same cable, and pick CABLE Output as your microphone in the game or call app. Picking your speakers alone won’t turn the voice into a microphone. Set NativeLens’s key and the game’s voice-chat key separately; with Voice-key link set to Line up with my voice key when I hold it, the translated voice is timed to the game’s voice key while you hold it.
