Screen translation
Translate an area once
Section titled “Translate an area once”Press Alt + A. The screen freezes; drag a box — or click a window control to snap to it — and let go. The translation appears right on top of the original text. Games, videos and other apps that draw their own interface have no controls to snap to; just drag a box.
Screenshot editor
Section titled “Screenshot editor”Alt + S works the same way, then opens the screenshot in the editor: box, ellipse, arrow, pen, highlighter, text, mosaic and eraser, plus Extract text, Translate this area and Scrolling shot. Ctrl + Z undoes, Ctrl + Y redoes.
Keep an area translated live
Section titled “Keep an area translated live”Press Alt + D and box an area. An amber frame stays around it:
- drag the dots on its corners and edges to resize it, or the size label at its top left to move it — NativeLens reads the new area as soon as you let go;
- clicks inside the frame still reach the app underneath;
- right-click the frame to pause, resume or stop.
Dialogue that types out letter by letter is translated once the line is complete. If the window under the frame is resized or minimized, live translation stops — box the area again.
Screenshots and recordings
Section titled “Screenshots and recordings”One switch decides whether your own screenshots and screen recordings show the translations and the frame: Let screen recording capture the overlay in Settings › Appearance. It’s on by default.
